SNOW SHOES HOLIDAYS

Southern alps snow shoes hikings

Winter is the moment of snow!

Enjoy the snow in a different way: no skilift, no crowds, no queues at the lift, just you and mountains. This is only possible with snow shoes in Italian alps!

Ciaspolata, in italian, means Snowshieing and it is a winter activity that has become very popular.

Come and discover the snow-covered mountains following traces and not trails, because in winter paths are different from the summer ones, you have to follow safer lines protected from avalanches where only a careful and expert guide will lead you to discover fascinating places rich in silent nature.

In the north of Piedmont you can find fascinating places like Alpe Devero, with its small hotels easily reachable on foot (10 minutes from the car parking) and with many snowshoe trails: from the simplest to the most challenging.

In western Piedmont there are valleys like the Valle Maira that offers small typical inns where excellent cuisine reigns supreme and the routes are wonderful and often in total calm.

In Lombardy there is the Valtellina that offers several valleys where you can travel from the easiest to the most challenging.

You are really spoiled for choice and each proposal can be adapted to the needs of anyone.

Snowshoeing is more tiring than walking on a snow-free path, that is why you will find proposal with less difference in height in comparison to summer offers. Some of the paths will be guided both by a Hiking Guide and a Mountain Guide (UIAGM). Most of the accommodations proposed will be in comfortable guesthouses or small mountain hotels where you can return to the evening in the heat of a stove enjoying the typical products and local mountain cuisine. There is also the possibility to have accomodation in cosy refuges where possibile and usually for short holidays like week-ends.
