MOUNTAINS OVERLOOKING THE SEA

The Flowers Riviera!

Enjoy the sea in a different way! Springtime and wintertime are the best seasons to live "sea trekking" in the northernmost mediterranean region. Come to hike this marvellous region.

LIGURIA

Liguria is an Italian region located in the north-west of Italy overlooking the Ligurian Sea.

If we look at Liguria from above it is like a slice of orange peel, where its outer part is made up of Apennine mountains while its jagged coast offers marvelous cliffs to hike, the most famous are the Cinque Terre. Thanks to the presence of mountains that mitigate the currents coming from the north and the sea, its coast enjoys a mild climate even in winter, ideal for hiking.

Genoa is the capital of this wonderful region with its great port and its city rich in history where the passage of different cultures have left their mark.

In this wonderful region you can do beautiful multy-day trekking even in winter days remaining close to the coast, where even in January you can admire blooms.

Liguria offers:

  • Mild climate
  • Coastal paths
  • Panoramic trails in the Apennines
  • Typical cuisine such as Focaccie, Farinata and Pesto
  • Sea and mountain trekking

In Liguria there are several parks and natural areas where we enjoy hiking, the most important are:

  • GEOGRAPHY AND GEOLOGY

Liguria is geologically complex, therefore very interesting. The “Colle di Cadibona”, Cadibona pass, marks the border between the Apennines and the Alps, doing trekking in this region it is possible to discover different types of rock: from the most typically alpine to the sedimentary ones. The Beigua Park is a Geopark recognized by UNESCO as world geologic heritage.
  • NATURE

Thanks to its territory, its orography and its geology there are plenty of different floral species. In the same hike or trekking we can admire flower essences typical of the Alps together with the Mediterranean ones in a blaze of colors and scents. From a wildlife point of view, there are many birds of prey, waterfowl, roe deer, mouflon. In Liguria the Wolf presence is strong as it is throughout the Apennines.
  • SCENARIOS AND PANORAMA

Imagine a mountain ridge where, in winter and spring, on one side you can admire the Alps in the distance and on the other you see the sea. On coast excursions you can immerse yourself in extensive forests of Leccio and Pino that overlook the cliffs. Cinque Terre with its vineyard terraces, the Portofino Park with its marvelous promontory and the coves on the sea: Unforgettable and unique nature and landscapes.
