Hiking on a summit with a stunning panorama
The great lakes of northern Italy are excellent destinations for hiking in spring and autumn.
Today we are on Lecco shore of Lake Como about one hour drive from Milan. Our itinerary starts from Mandello del Lario, a well known village all over the world because there is the Moto Guzzi factory.
The path leading to the Zucco di Sileggio is steep and the difference in height is about 1000 meters. Fortunately the route is not difficult and the climb is always constant where, once you get the right pace, you can climb optimizing the effort!

Stunning view from Moneglia to Framura between woods and cliffs
Today is very hot we are just at the beginning of spring! On the Ligurian coast the temperature during the day was 24° and we experienced an early summer.
We started from Milan with 7° and humidity and arrived in Moneglia with 18° and dry climate, this is the beauty of northern Italy in a few kilometers you can have often opposite climates.
Our trail starts from the city center, we follow a small road to reach the village of Lemeglio.

Hiking above the sea with the view to the Alps!
Mount Priafaia is a small but extremely scenic summit in the Monte Beigua Natural Park in Liguria. From this peak during the clear winter days you can admire both the Alps and the sea in the same time thanks to the dry winter air. The name is difficult to pronounce for an Italian, who knows for a foreigner! The name means stone of the beeches: Pria means stone while Faia means beech in an ancient local dialect.

Daily hike from Uscio to Camogli between mountain and sea
February is the month in which on the Ligurian coast you begin to breathe spring air. Today with a nice group we have travelled the last stage of “Via del Sale lombarda”, Lombardian salt route, that from Pavia carried the merchants up and down to the Genoese coasts where the trades took place between the Mediterranean and the Po Valley.
